Jay-Z recently appeared at a photo shoot for Fendi and is expected to be featured in the company’s upcoming ad campaign. As some Hip-Hop fans and fashion mavens will note, the rapper inconspicuously name dropped the italian luxury brand on Beyonce’s “Upgrade U,” in the following lines: “I’m talking Spy Bags and fly pads, and rooms at the Bloomberg/ rumors you on the verge of a new merge…”
The song was a huge hit, and the mention must have surely given the already sought-after—and insanely expensive (they start at two Gs)—Fendi “Spy Bags” the “Jiggaman Bump,” where the former Def Jam president cosigns a product and it becomes immensely popular. On that account, It seems fitting that the leather goods producer would want to collaborate with him in a more meaningful way.
Fendi is a subsidiary of the LVMH group of companies, which also holds brands such as Moet, Marc Jacobs, Hennessy and Louis Vuitton. LVMH currently trades on the European stock exchange under the ticker symbol: MC, and on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol: LVMUY.
