Once upon a time, there was a young Latina who went by the name of Jaydieli. She happened to write for a fabulous intelligence agency; Mi Bodega Online. She spent her days in between classes, meetings, and always thinking of what she would write for her next article. Her editors El DSG and Lemuel were knights in shining armor, Urban Intellects in their own right. They allowed our little Jaydieli to write on whatever she wanted to, and write she did! Our young writer accustomed to spending much time in deep thought, one day stumbled onto the thought of just how many frogs she had kissed! Frogs who never quite transformed into the Charming Prince that she had hoped for. Which is where our tale begins, because being fully aware that one has “to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your handsome prince”, Jaydieli decided to compile a list of characteristics to aid other beautiful, young Latinas, and herself in identifying which frogs to kiss and which ones to throw against a wall. So please, sit back and read the discoveries that our Jaydieli has made in the hopes of finding her own prince charming…

Our Latino Prince Charming…

1. Although he may occasionally call you sexy, gorgeous, or baby; this Latino prince prefers to call you Mi Tesoro, Mi Amor, or Mi Reina.
2. Impresses you with his old school manners. He walks on the outside when you’re walking down the street and every now and then he opens the door for you.
3. He can and also should want to impress your Mami as well as your Tia’s with his chivalry, while still making you smile (ex., he brings you flowers and remembers your mother’s birthday).
4. Is bilingual, and can speak proper and fluently in both Spanish and English.
5. He is also very proud of his Latino heritage. Its always a plus if he embraces it and will occasionally keep himself posted on the newest Latino films, which young new Dominican is getting brought up into the Major leagues, or which new salsa song is just great for dancing.
6. He is a detallista. He can remember some of your favorite things such as your favorite candy, when your next big exam is, or what your favorite merengue song is.
7. He is respectful of the strong and independent Latina that you are, but is still supportive of your endeavors.
8. Has the ability to look refreshing and elegant in a Guayabera.
9. Is a man of his word and stands his ground. He will try to be as honest as possible and stand true to his beliefs and morals.
10. Will adore you, like no other.
