Those of you who looked at our first case : Rosa Acosta, have learned that a female currently in this video vixen industry CHOSE this path even though she was well on her way to what could’ve been an amazing ballet career. Since we received such a great response to the subject of the video vixens issue we thought we should make this a project to keep that constant beat on how many females fall for this trap and how serious this is. Even though these “video vixens” aren’t public representatives to the world of the culture and the nations they come from formally on paper, since there is such a small percentage of women of color on television what that small portion does effects us all as a community and a people a lot more.

In this case we look at a 20 year old Puerto Rican Latina, Sasha Delvalle, who is from North NJ. Looking for info on this “vixen” or a “vixen in the making” was a lot harder than the 1^st case we worked on (Rosa Acosta). You can tell Ms. Delvalle is new to this industry because of a lack online presence.

There really isn’t any legit bio we were able to find, but what we were able to pick up from the public forum or internet was the following:

Highest Education Received : High School
Resides/ is from North New Jersey
She’s made cameo’s (camera appearances) in some music videos and even Maury not too long ago (videos below)

She’s getting a buzz now because her latest appearance was in 50 cent’s short film after his latest album drop late Nov. “Before I Self Destruct.” She’s now known as being “that chic from the 50 cent sex scene in the 50 film” We came across the clip of the sex scene below (NSFW)

Like we advised earlier in this post even though these “video vixens” aren’t public representatives to the world of the culture and the nations they come from formally on paper, since there is such a small percentage of women of color on television what that small portion does effects us all as a community and a people a lot more. This goes for both actresses and video vixens. With that being said:

What do you think of Sasha’s “successful” progress? Rosa Acosta is 25 and Sasha is 20. Sasha is still pretty young. Think that this is a valid point of concern? Is she projecting a good image for Latinas? How about Puerto Rican women? With being a video vixen or actress is there a responsibility that is both ethical and moral? Or is it just healthy to have a “imma do me attitude by any means” ?

Video Vixens Vice or Virtue Series Summary : Still to this day women of color aren’t well represented for the most part in the media and all across the board from films to news stories. An industry that women of color stereotypically to the world are known to embrace is the music video industry. This Intel post we will examine whether women in today’s music video’s aka Video Vixens help promote to the world a healthy tasteful image of ethnic women or a negative one.

Brenda, The sole statement that she's not "stripping or selling ass like a lot of Latin women are doing these days," is beyond me. Sasha has INDEED stripped her clothing off naked for Videos and or Photo Shoots and IS in fact getting compensated to do so. The mere generalization "like a lot of Latin women are doing these days" is predominantly the intention of this article. You, like many, are displaying and playing into the misconception that Latina females do sell themselves or strip for money. I, speaking for the Latina females that DO NOT do so will state that both Sasha and Rosa DO NOT represent me. DSG presents his case accurately. He is simply pointing out the facts. She is young, she is a video vixen, and as you've just proven she is contributing to the mass misconception that Latina women will exploit their bodies if the price is right. Whether this video's artist was 50 Cent or Pitbull, the facts remain the same. The responsibility lies within the FEMALES that CHOOSE to exploit their bodies for fame or money. Once you CHOOSE to display yourself publicly, the choices you make will inevitably shape and mold the minds of those watching. Granted, as DSG states- these females are not public representatives. However, one must question the public representations of our culture. Do we wish to be portrayed in this way? Do images such as these feed the stigma that Latina women are simply sexpots? While I encourage Sasha and Rosa to make their mark as Latina women, I will not idly stand back and support the defamation to our culture. Actresses like Zoe Saldana, Judy Reyes, and Joanna Garcia demonstrate that you can in fact be successful in Hollywood- without compromising your attire or promoting sexpot stereotypes.

Brenda, Can you really call this modeling? It doesn't matter if 50 were Latino or any other ethnicity. Sasha is doing more harm...she is representing minority women in a stereotypical manner. What films can she really do? She will be objectified or just be a plain video vixen. A video vixen is not a real actress and will never be..how how many women become actresses from being a video vixen? Stripping and porn affects all women not just Latin!

Brenda, What in the world is Latin? How is something Latin. Do you mean Latino? "Would it have been better for you if it was a latin actor instead of 50 Cent?" How does this question even have anything to do with the article that was written here. I cant even call this a question, its a statement. I think a lot of credit is given here. A beautiful young "Latino" not Latin, is being featured on an article. The writer doesnt knock Sasha only questions her career and if it sets a good example for young girls. Brenda do you want your daughter growing up to have her almost naked body displayed all over the internet. Would you like 50 **Cking the hell out of her extremly brolic in a the shower? Big up to Sasha, shes doing her thing, but i agree with the writer, im not so sure this type of career is a good example for young girls. Theres more out there in the world to just being pretty.

i think Sasha is on a good path. She's stepping into the acting world at the age of 20 which is good. The sex scene is cool. Every film has a major sex scene. At least she's not stripping or selling ass like a lot of latin women are doing these days. Give her a break and encourage her to do better instead of trying to knock her down. Would it have been better for you if it was a latin actor instead of 50 Cent?
