The Warm Up is the second official mixtape from North Carolina rapper J. Cole. Since Jay-Z signed J. Cole to Roc Nation, J. Cole has been living up to his expectations. The once unknown rapper from Fayetteville, North Carolina has developed crazy buzz, mainly thanks to The Warm Up. The mixtape's single Lights Please has embodied the lyrical, meaningful verses that Cole offers as well as a catchy hook sung by the rapper. Other popular songs on the mixtape are Can I Live, and Grown Simba. J. Cole also raps covers on the songs Dead Presidents (song) by Jay-Z and Last Call by Kanye West. J. Cole also produced the majority of the mixtape with help from Elite and Syience.
